Mecer Channel Breakfast Briefing
This year's Annual Dealer Management event was held on the 15th
of November, 2005 at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi. The Breakfast was
a time to share with our Dealers, updates on Mecer's product portfolio
and on-going business plans for the coming year and beyond. The
meeting was mostly attended by Mecer's Channel Partners in the
region and was characterized by lively presentations and discussions
between the Mecer management and the invited guests. The highlights
of the day included:
- The official Introduction of Mecer East Africa?s new Managing
Director, Ms Tina Lin who replaced Ms Ricarda McFalls at the
helm of the company. Ms Lin has previously worked within the
Mecer Group
of companies both in Taiwan as well South Africa, covering a
span of over 8 years. She brings on board a wealth of experience
and
knowledge particularly in the area of Logistics and Procurement,
and overall management of the company. "My part is to take Mecer
even further up the ladder of success and I would like to thank
you (Dealers) all for your continuous support and I look forward
to our further co-operation" said Tina in her speech. Ricarda
McFalls resigned in the month of August after a 2 year stint
with Mecer. She has moved on to pursue other avenues in her
career.

- Mecer will continue to strengthen its Brand image and Brand
appreciation by carrying on the current outdoor advertising
and print media
advertising blitz. This is in keeping in line with Mecer's
overall strategy of increasing and maintaining market share
as we seek
to establish our regional operations.
- Tina also announced Mecer's expansion plans in the coming
year. We have budgeted US$1,000,000 for the purpose of purchasing
new
premises in 2006. This is being done in order to take capture
our future growth strategies as well as relocate our offices
to an
area that is more accessible to our current and future clients.
Mecer is currently in the process of identifying and acquiring
the new premises, that should be done with immediate effect.
Overall, Mecer emphasized that it is committed to establishing
operations in Kenya and addressing the various IT needs of the
local and regional market. George Odula, the Business Development
Manager) announced that "...besides empowering our dealers with
relevant products, local support and availability of product
we want to
aggressively price our products and increase IT uptake in the
region..." The New Year promises a lot of growth opportunities
for both Mecer
and its Channel partners.
